You will join our Product team (7 FTE) and work together with our current Back-end Engineers and the rest of our engineers in developing the platform. You’ll be mainly responsible for implementing new features in our back-end.
Check is a fast-growing shared mobility platform, providing the easiest way around town. We believe urban mobility can be more efficient and we want everyone in every city to be able to reach their destination within 15 minutes. We do this by introducing new and smart forms of mobility. Our shared e-mopeds, kickscooters and cars are available in cities throughout The Netherlands and Germany.
With our solutions we help to reduce the carbon footprint and work towards a cleaner world.
In February 2020, we launched our first 160 e-mopeds in Rotterdam and within 6 months we 10x-ed that, opening in Amsterdam, The Hague and Breda. Not long thereafter we turned profitable as a company at group level and became an international company by opening our first German city: Düsseldorf. In the meantime, Check added Groningen and Leeuwarden to its service and more locations are lining-up, having our next 10x in the crosshairs.
You will be joining the Product Team as a Back-end Engineer. The Product team built Check’s entire platform in-house. Our apps, back-end systems, custom tools and integrations and data warehouse are fully in our hands. The Product Team determines how to manage, develop and scale the platform. As a team member, you will join this conversation of how we go about it. This means working together with all our teams with one shared goal in mind: growing Check in a smart way.
As a Back-end Engineer you will join forces with our current Back-end Engineers in developing our back-end platform. You’ll assess upcoming features on feasibility and implications and work on the implementation of these features in our back-end. Examples are adding new modes of transportation to our platform, building invoicing systems or connecting our platform to mobility aggregators (MaaS platforms).
Furthermore, you’ll look for opportunities to optimize our current back-end architecture. You’ll make sure our platform is future-proof, lean and scalable. You share knowledge company-wide and actively involve other teams in your considerations and decisions. In addition, you’ll be actively involved in defining the strategy of the Product Team, which includes identifying valuable new opportunities.
You’ll attend the off-site Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) together with the rest of the Check team to brainstorm about the future of the company (and - of course - to #enjoytheride).
