Check is growing constantly. City by city. Country by country. Our financial department is evolving and therefore we are looking for a Financial Accountant. You dare to challenge the status quo in an international environment.

You will be the go-to person on all accounting topics for Check Netherlands, Germany and all other countries we will expand to in the future. Because of your experience in this field, you know where and how Check can improve and you make sure that this gets done. You dare to challenge the status quo and give (unsolicited) advice to your colleagues.


Check is a fast-growing shared mobility platform, providing the easiest way around town. We believe urban mobility can be more efficient and we want everyone in every city to be able to reach their destination within 15 minutes. We do this by introducing new and smart forms of mobility. Our shared e-mopeds are available in cities throughout The Netherlands and Germany.

With our solutions we help to reduce the carbon footprint and work towards a cleaner world.

Two years ago we launched our first 160 e-mopeds in Rotterdam and within 6 months we 10x-ed that, opening in Amsterdam, The Hague and Breda. Not long thereafter we turned profitable as a company at group level and became an international company by opening our first German city: Düsseldorf. And we’re just getting started.


You will be joining the three-person Finance team, consisting of a finance manager, a junior accountant and you. Your role will consist of recurring tasks such as invoice processing, month/year end closing, ledger controls, VAT declarations etc., therefore we expect you to be a stickler for details. But the job is much more than that!

As a critical thinker you will challenge the status-quo of the current set-up of our financial systems as well as our way of working and come up with well worked out ideas on how to improve. You will get the freedom to improve and we expect you to take full ownership. You will need a hands-on mentality to do the job and excellent communication skills to get the job done.

  • A Masters degree in Accounting/Finance
  • A working knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and standards
  • 3+ years of experience ideally working in a fast-paced business in a role which involve business critical analysis
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets knowledge
  • Experience with Exact Online is a pre
  • You want to make an impact and take ownership of your work
