You are responsible for building- and maintaining strong relationships with all non-commercial third parties that are important to Check, such as policy makers and (local) government representatives. You make the positive case for Check as a platform and you explain the benefits of our offering so we are allowed to continue our growth. You are passionate about shared mobility and the possibilities it entails for liveable cities and you are able to convey this enthusiasm in an articulate manner. You have experience in working with the public sector, either from a company, a third party or a governmental institution.
You'll join the three-person Growth team and will be responsible for building and maintaining contact with local and national government, MaaS-parties, press and other relevant non-commercial parties. You'll work closely together with the Growth team, as well as other teams like Product and Operations. Working together is important for both performance and morale, so let us introduce you to the growth team first!

Growth Manager

Like the rest of us, you are comfortable with running your own shop. Your shop entails proactively explaining the added societal value of Check to all relevant stakeholders. We invite you to challenge our existing frameworks, processes and growth strategy and bring them to a next level. You bring both practical knowledge and several years of experience, and have a track record in public policy and stakeholder management.
In a weekly cadence, you manage the needed regulatory frame for growth. You are in close contact with municipalities that we are currently active in, providing input on policy issues that arise and reporting on requested data. You will be in touch with prospective municipalities, talking with them about the added value of shared mobility in combating car ownership or, if they are already convinced, applying for shared mobility permits.
You monitor the developments at the Ministry of I&W and coordinate if needed on topics such as the helmet requirement for all e-mopeds, the LEV-framework and the national MaaS-pilot. Lastly, you manage the press relations, answer questions from journalists and write and send out press releases.
"We work together with municipalities to pave the way for liveable and sustainable cities."
Anouk, Manager Public Affairs
During your first 6-8 months, our current public affairs manager is on maternity leave and you will take over her full set of responsibilities as described above. This will allow you to really indulge in the role and get a great understanding of public affairs at Check. Upon her return in January, you will work together closely and work towards a division of the responsibilities, allowing you both to specialise in a specific area of the role.
Next to your day-to-day activities, you will formulate- and execute the overarching growth strategy of Check together with the rest of the Growth team. You participate in the weekly Growth meeting to discuss results and important topics. You attend the off-site Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) together with the rest of the Check team to brainstorm about the future of the company, and of course, to enjoy the ride.
Be an owner.
We treat everything we do or use as if it is our own. Everyone gets and takes full ownership for his or her responsibilities.
Be focused.
Work on what moves the needle and don't stop until that is fully integrated into our business. Do less, but execute what you do to perfection.
Always raise the bar.
Try to exceed expectations. Not only in your own work, but also in inspiring others.
Enjoy the ride.
Work should feel like a paid hobby. Well-being of the team is more important than performance.
